In 2025 RDG was divided into two streams:
RDG Stream 1 - Development for the purpose of developing research ideas and projects including current eligible activities:
- Essential field work, data collection or project development costs including travel, accommodation, technical and logistical support (e.g. transcription or translation fees, community participation fees)
- Costs of materials, equipment or associated costs
- Technical/research assistance for the creation of the project or associated research outputs
- Costs associated with further concept development or commercialisation (including consultation)
RDG Stream 2 - Dissemination for the purpose of supporting dissemination of research outputs and increasing impact, such as conference presentation or fees associated with publication, including current eligible activities:
- Costs associated with presenting research at a conference or exhibition, where a peer reviewed research output (e.g., referred conference with full paper published in proceedings, exhibition in a non-commercial gallery with a peer review selection process) is a result of the presentation including travel, conference fees and accommodation.
- Research dissemination costs such as copyright/open access fees or exhibition presentation costs
