Information Before Completing the Expression of Interest (EoI)

The McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme is the University of Melbourne’s flagship postdoctoral development program that contributes to research excellence and builds the capability of high calibre scholars at the early career stage.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  • Please ensure you have read and understood the McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellowships Scheme Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions.
  • The application process consist of two stages. If you are successful in the Expression of Interest stage, you will be invited to submit a full application. 
  • Your application must be supported by the school or department you are applying to.Two levels of support are required:
    • Academic contact's support
    • Head of Department (HOD) and/or Head of School (HOS) approval.
  • You must have the prior support of the School(s) or Department(s) you are applying to. For the McKenzie Fellowship, this should be in the form of a confirmed Academic Contact/Supervisor in your field who is willing to declare support for your proposed research project using the Endorsement Declaration template available on the scheme website.
  • You may use the University's Find an Expert tool to help you locate an Academic Contact/Supervisor in your field who will declare support for your proposed research project using the Endorsement Declaration template available on the scheme website.
  • Eligibility exemption requests must be made as part of this EOI. Exemption requests made outside the EOI form will not be considered.
  • Incomplete applications or declined eligibility exemptions will not be progressed for further assessment.

Host Faculty

Schools, Departments and Centres sit within these Faculties. You will need to select both the Faculty and School, Department, or Centre that you are applying to work in. Ask your local contacts if you are unsure.
