Instructions to Applicants

This EOI form allows applicants to apply for one or more of the University of Melbourne's fellowships – the McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellowships, Puzey Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Mary Lugton Postdoctoral Fellowship – by submitting a single application. As part of the process, you will be invited to indicate the fellowship(s) for which you wish to be considered, and you will be guided to determine your eligibility based on the criteria for each scheme.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  • Please ensure you have read and understood the Early Career Researcher Fellowships scheme guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions for any/all the Fellowships for which you are applying.
  • The application process consists of two stages. If you are successful in the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage, you will be invited to submit a full application.
  • Your EOI must be supported by the School or Department you are applying to join. Two levels of support are required at different points:
    • Academic Contact's support for all EOI applicants
    • Head of Department (HOD) and/or Head of School's (HOS) approval (for EOIs shortlisted by faculties only)
  • You must have the confirmed support of your Academic Contact before applying, and upload the signed Academic Endorsement form before submitting your EOI.
  • You may use the University's Find an Expert tool to find an academic contact/supervisor in your field willing to support your proposed research project by completing the endorsement declaration template available on the scheme website.
  • Eligibility Exemption Requests (EERs) where required must be made as part of this EOI.
  • Applications must comply with the formatting, page and word limit requirements stated in the Application Form. Please ensure that you meet these requirements, as non-compliance risks your application being deemed ineligible for consideration. This is particularly important with regards to the page length of CVs and Project Descriptions.
  • Save as you go: Manually save your work as you progress through the application.
