The Faculty of Science invites applications for funding to support new cross-disciplinary research projects aligned with the 2023–2030 Faculty Research Strategy. In 2026, the funding pool includes 4 funded cross-disciplinary projects. Each project may request 1 PhD stipend plus $10,000 per annum project funding (for three years).
This initiative supports innovative collaborations across disciplines, Schools and Faculties to address complex scientific and societal challenges. Funding aims to enable new partnerships, novel approaches and the development of research capacity.
Projects must demonstrate meaningful cross-disciplinary collaboration and may align with the Faculty’s Big Challenges (climate change, biodiversity, food systems, planetary health, human and animal health, renewable energy). Proposals outside these Big Challenges that demonstrate alignment with the Faculty Research Strategy 2023-2030 are also welcome.
